We install the controls around AI.
Ambient Agent® is a UK company that designs and installs AI control systems inside organisations. In plain terms, that means the rules, approvals and records that let people use AI at work without the organisation losing sight of it.
We do not sell ambient agents.
The name causes one common misunderstanding, so it is worth clearing up first.
Ambient Agent® is not an AI agent product. We design and install the AI Control System: the access rules, evidence requirements, approval workflow, register and reporting that let an organisation adopt AI safely.
Once it is installed, control runs the way ambient technology is meant to run. It works continuously, in the background, without getting in the way of how people already work.
The name describes that end result.
The gap between the policy and what happens.
Most organisations can point to the documents. Far fewer can show that the rules in them are followed day to day. That gap is what we close.

We keep to a narrow job on purpose. Knowing what we will not do should save you a conversation.

We do not
- Write AI strategy.
- Provide training or run a learning platform.
- Sell software or build AI agents.
- Supply a generic governance or compliance framework.
- Stay embedded as long-term consultants.
Control before scale. Evidence before expansion.
Three things we hold to.
Control
Governance and oversight come first. If something would widen the use of AI before the controls are in place, we do not do it.
Evidence
Decisions rest on data. Nothing is expanded without evidence.
System
AI activity is managed as one connected control system. It is never a collection of separate tools.

Founder and director
Brent Phillips founded Ambient Agent Ltd after leading AI governance and enablement inside two large, regulated UK organisations. He was accountable for governance, adoption, controls and getting AI into use across the business. The methods had to work in practice.
Ambient Agent® takes what was learned there and turns it into a practical AI control system: clear ownership, proportionate controls, reusable documents and evidence that stands up to scrutiny.
Brent did that work himself, as a senior leader inside each organisation. The experience is his, and the control system built from it belongs to Ambient Agent®.
